We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments in their original manuscripts, is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, and that the teachings within are the final authority for all believers in faith, life, and practice. (Ps. 19:7–11; 2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12; 2 Pt. 1:16–21)
We believe in one God, the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth. He is the Preserver and Governor of all things, and He alone is worthy of worship. God is holy, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, eternally unchanging, and infinitely perfect in every way. God eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Together they are called the Trinity. The three Persons of the Trinity are coequal in power, glory, and majesty. Each Person of the Trinity is God, yet there is only one God. (Dt. 6:4–5; Ps. 104; Is. 6:1–5, 43:10, 46:9–11; Dn. 7:13–14; Mt. 3:16–17; Lk. 5:20–26; Jn. 1:1–18, 5:19–29, 8:58, 10:30, 12:37–41, 14:26, 15:26; Acts 5:1–4, 13:2; 1 Cor. 8:6, 12:1–11; 2 Cor. 3:17; Heb. 1)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whose nature is both fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the virgin Mary. We believe the testimony of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit to Jesus Christ’s sinless life, His miracles, and His vicarious and fully atoning sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. We believe He died and after three days was bodily resurrected and ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He reigns over the universe and intercedes for believers. We await His physical, personal return in power and glory to completely establish His kingdom. (Pss. 2, 110; Is. 9:6–7, 11:1–5, 52:13–53:12; Mt. 24:36; Mk. 2:5–11 (c.f. Ps. 51:4), 15:42–16:8; Lk. 24:36–43; Jn. 2:18–22, 10:17–18, 10:30, 19:31–37; Rom. 3:21–26; 2 Cor. 2:21; Col. 1:15–22; 1 Jn. 2:2)
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, convict men of sin, and teach us how to live. The Holy Spirit’s ministry and testimony affirm the truth of the works of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells believers and guides, instructs, and empowers believers to live a godly life and grow in all efforts of sanctification, godly life, and service to God. (Jn. 14:26, 15:26, 16:8–15; Rom. 8:9–16, 8:26–27; 1 Cor. 6:19–20; Eph. 1:13–14, 4:30; 1 Jn. 2:27–28)
We believe man and woman are created in the image of God. God first created humans in a state of innocence, purity, and intimate fellowship with Him. But by their disobedience, Adam, Eve, and all of mankind in them were condemned to spiritual and physical death. All humans are born sinners and justly deserve the wrath of God. Jesus Christ alone was born a perfect and sinless man. God created marriage to be an exclusive covenant between one male and one female. (Gn. 1:27, 2:24, 3:1–24, 6:5; Lv. 18:22; Ps. 51:5; Jer. 17:9; Mt. 15:19–20, 19:4-6; Mk. 7:21–23; Rom. 1:18–3:20, 5:12; 1 Cor. 15:21–22, 15:47–48)
We believe the believer is justified by the grace of God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are necessary to receive the gifts of salvation and eternal life. At the moment of salvation, believers are blessed with spiritual unity with our Lord Jesus Christ through faith. (Pss. 32:1–5, 51:17; Is. 55:6–9; Mt. 11:28–30; Mk. 1:15; Jn. 1:12, 3:3–5, 6:35; Rom. 3:21–26, 5:6–8, 6:1–4; 1 Cor. 6:15–17; 1 Jn. 1:8–10)
We believe in the outward and visible fruits of salvation and sanctification in our Lord Jesus Christ, and that good works and righteous living will accompany the believer’s faith. The work of sanctification in all believers results in glorification in eternity, including receiving a glorified body. (Mt. 7:21–27; Mk. 4:1–20; Lk. 9:23; Jn 13:34–35, 14:15, 14:21–24, 15:1–10; Rom. 6, 8:5–8, 8:13–14, 8:28-30; 1 Thes. 5:23; 1 Jn. 1–5)
We believe in the immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, and the coming judgment of all humanity at the end of the world. Those who are saved will receive resurrection to eternal life, and those who are lost will receive resurrection to eternal destruction. (Mt. 25:31–46; Mk. 9:47–48; Jn. 5:19–29; Acts 17:30–31; 1 Cor. 15; Phil. 3:18–21; 2 Thess 1:5-10; Heb. 6:6–8, 10:26–31; 2 Pt. 2:4–10, 3:7; Rv. 20:11–15, 21:8)
We believe that God is the Healer and through His Son, Jesus, He heals all who repent and believe in Him, of humanity’s greatest sickness, sin. We believe that creation was never meant to experience suffering, pain, or death, and that these things are outward symptoms of a sin-cursed world. During His earthly ministry Jesus healed many physical ailments as (1) confirmation of His ability to forgive sin and reconcile sinners to the Father, and (2) to demonstrate that He is the final Adam of Genesis 3:15 who will undo and reverse the curse. Suffering is not something God delights in, but something He allows and redeems for the good of His children and the glory of His name. No suffering the Christian undergoes is pointless, but serves to produce endurance, character, and hope; and the various trials we experience proves the genuineness of our faith. The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed in us. While we groan inwardly, we will one day experience the redemption of our bodies. God comforts us in all our affliction, and as we share in Christ’s sufferings, we will share abundantly in comfort too. One day there will be a new heaven and a new earth where all suffering will cease for the Christian, where He will wipe away every tear, and where there will no longer be any death, mourning, crying, or pain.
