Diamonds is able to serve so many because of our incredible team of volunteers contributing their unique skills and gifts.
At Diamonds, you can expect:
- To make an impact in the lives of chronic illness warriors (and to see the fruit of your labor)
- Compassion and empathy for your health needs
- Creative and flexible accommodations
- Leadership who cares more about the person than the project
- Training and mentorship in transferable skills
Of course, the vision is one thing, the details are another. Here are some of the questions we get most often:
What is the time commitment?
This depends on the role! Many are small, less than an hour a week. It can also depend on what type of role you are interested in. For example, our prayer team is active all the time, doing a little bit each week, but our study guide team really only has focused work a few months out of the year. Regardless, almost all Diamonds staff volunteers have a chronic illness themselves and we love to creatively work around health needs.
How many meetings do I need to go to?
For most roles—one or two a year, and even then not necessarily on video or even voice call.
Does applying or interviewing mean I am committing myself?
Nope! Your interview is not only for us to ask you questions, but for you to ask all your questions and meet those in leadership to find out if you will work well with us! It’s more like a first date than an interrogation.
What is the compensation?
All positions are currently volunteer, but all volunteer staff members receive free access to our paid community and content library with 180+ sessions for Christians with chronic illnesses.

Current Volunteer’s Favorite Things About Diamonds
“Knowing that no one is going to be upset by my limitations or need for rest, and the friendships I’ve gained through it!”
“feeling thankful for a community that actually GETS IT without a lot of explanation!!”
“Being able to share my gifts with a community that is often overlooked and underserved, but also one that offers me grace and compassion when I am suffering, too. I am often unable to serve in traditional capacitities because of my physical limitations, but the Diamonds Staff works alongside me so I can serve within my limitations.”
“Learning new skills that carry over to other work I do. How understanding everyone is if you need a break or need someone last minute to jump in and complete a task.”
